Bring it Back Tuesdays.. My first blog

Here is my first blog. written on Sept 18, 2006 and titled "The death of heels" sad thing is 2 years later I still see the same fashion shyt going on. Anyway real post coming tomorrow... enjoy.

What the hell is going on with women fashion? All this summer I've been looking at flip flops and chucks. What happen to high heels? I mean all the sudden women want to be comfortable rather than look sexy… WTF!!! One of the perks of summer in DC is that you see beautiful women in sundresses and heels. Now I'm seeing everyone rocking that bohemian look. The 80's sucked for a reason. That's why the miniskirt was invented because 80's fashion needed help!!! You realize that the fall of sexiness in women's fashion made Justin Timberlake make a song called "Sexy Back"!!! and it plays like 300 times a day. So now we have to suffer with Justin Timberlake and Puffy arguing about who's sexier?? I don't need that in my life. I needs girls to stop rocking those stupid smart ass t-shirts like "your boyfriend wants me" and get back into your dresses and heels. I'm not talking about going to get your freak on at Love the Club or the Fly Lounge. Club wear seems to have remained stable, besides them 4 inch wide belts that wrap around your stomach and not your waist. WTF is that about? besides propping up your breasts what's the point of them? I'm talking about women wearing sexy sh*t to work, that's the only thing that made my ride on metro enjoyable. I'm tired of having nothing to look at or seeing a cute girl and realizing that she like 17 then feeling like an dirty old man all the way home. Please bring your heels out. unless you got ugly feet than please wear close toe heels… LOL

omg. you really need to be slapped for this shit! lmao!! what is wrong with you? ok. first i can see where you're coming from. but you dont understand man! heels are sexy but they make your feet hurt. they are the sole reason why some women have ugly feet (except for the poor unfortunate souls who were born with ugly feet...but thats another topic fir another day.) and im not talkin about some lil wimpy ass hurt im talkin bout the balls of your feet burnin so bad that you want to cry. or a strap thats diggin into your baby toe that shit is painful.

now the belt thing i have nothin to say about bc i dont wear them. they look uncomfortable to me...but thats just me.

but youre crazy and this post had me crying laughin...

Heels are wonderful. Unless you're 5'7" barefoot and then put on 3-inch pumps. Only to be approached by shorty (literally) and his head only comes up to your boobs. Uh, Houston, we have a problem.

But what's killer is that if we demanded ya'll to wear Seersucker slacks, linen pantsuits or shirt & ties everywhere, you'd be looking at us cross-eyed.

Oh, the double standards.

OMG...only coming from a man. lol. heels hurt. trust me, i've tried to avoid them for about...forever. i have a bunch of heels, but on any given day, i think any woman who wants to be walking to and fro near the metro would rather have on some ballet flats. they are to live for.

um...i will not have you dissing the high waist belts. its not your stomach...its the high waist. lol. but i see your point, cause they aren't for everyone. (i have them in like 10 colors and wear one on a daily basis though and i hope they never go out of style cause i'll never have something to show off my curves!)

Maybe you should walk around in heels for a day or two (just near the dollhouse in your apartment)...and i think you'll get an appreciation for flats...now what is up with men and ball crunching pants, dc men with matching tenis shoes to multicolored shirts...its so busy!

As much as I like to drool over em', I don't/can't do heels on a regular.

I mean they're sexy as hell {YES} and they make for some great weapons too but the bottom line is them bad boys can get real uncomfortable after a while.

OMG! I've heard this from other guys too! They were complain because the "booty switch" was gone with the heels.

Unfortunately my vagina puts me on the same side as the ladies. i wants to be comfortable and and if I can do it while being cute then I'm good to go.

I am sick and damn tired of the high waist belt. it's stupid and most women don't have the proper body for it anyway not the mention the fact that the style is getting real old real fast.

i have to agree with the rest of the women and say....high heel shoes hurt!

and also, after dealing with what i've dealt with in the relationship realm, perhaps it's not worth it to wind up with corns & bunions that are HARD to get rid of just to impress a man who i later find out has a slew of issues. then when he's gone, i still got those corns & bunions to deal with. lol

i'm short [5'3] so i LOOOOVE me some heels, buuuuuut i also like to keep my feet pretty and wearing heels 24/7 is not good for your feet! walk in my shoes for a day and you will feeeeeel me!

and chucks? whats wrong with chucks?! i will rock a pair to my dance class or when im in sweats. chucks are classic!

and sandals... depends on what kind. cuz now they make sandals look cute and sexy! i guess thats different from flip flops, so nm. lol

I am a shoe addict but i'm with the rest of these ladies.. I cannot and will NOT rock heels all the time..nope. The only time I wear them is to go out, an interview or a date..I see some of these girls on campus wearing stilettos to class in the wintertime and I just smh..

You wrote this back in 06...I can tell.

Heels are a form of torture invented by man. They are actually very bad for womens knees. Yet, men don't care because they want 10 seconds of eye candy. Hunh. Hunh. Hunh.

I admit the baby tees aren't cute either. Can we come up with a compromise besides the heels?

Preach Sweet Keikei Preach! I could not have said it better...the long lasting corns and bunions are not worth it.

Why is it that the females arent allowed to take a break occasionally? Dont men have those days when they just want to wear basketball shirts and white tees??
Personally, I choose to wear heels more often than not only because I know it gives me the extra lift in the booty and I happen to be one of those women whose feet has yet to suffer from the heels.

i might be the only one around here that misses wearing their heels everyday

i wear flats thats me... what about men it would be nice to see a man in a suit.. like the fiveheart beats style... men use to always wear suits or dress clothes back in the day... bring that back instead of jeans hanging off some guys ass and ill fitting white t's that look like dresses...

You are a dirty 'ole man, LOL.

My mom used to rock the heels faithfully. Man, if you could see the xrays of her feet you would shudder. Too bad the same men she was wearing those heels for got no love for them broke up feet now. I love heels but they do not love me. They need to be worn in moderation, unless one can find a man who will drive them around to the endless podiatrists appointments sure to ensue.

Let's see, maybe women should wear button down shirts so they can stay fastened up at work, and therefore be taken more seriously and be able to maintain eye contact with co-workers and clients and then unbutton a few buttons so that the guy too shy to talk them anyway will have a nice train ride home.
