God's Funny

So I was all ready to post a blog complaining about my baby momma when Dreamy sends me this text message:

Hey Dave things are bad down here. Declared Louisiana a state of emergency. The storm hit us badly. We have no electricity in Baton Rouge at all. It's crazy down here. Were on curfue can't leave the area at all. Two trees fell on my moms house! Fresh water is going out. 646,000 people are without electricity within the state, 240,000 in BR. I just wanted to let u know I was living. If u don't mind can u let everyone know I'm ok! Ur # is all I have ! Thanks.

God works funny like that sometimes. Just as I'm about to complain I'm reminded that things could be worse. I have power, my baby is upstairs sound asleep and I don't have a tree in my living room. So take a minute to count your blessings and another to send some good will and prayers out to Dreamy, her family and everyone else down south as they try and recover from Hurricane Gustav.

Until next time>>>>>>>>>>> Super Dave

Definitely ironic how life works out. Glad to hear that Dreamy is safe.

You're a good guy!

Glad to hear she is OK...I sent her an email a few days ago to check on her and hadn't heard anything.

Dreamy is such a dear...even with all that she's going through, she took a minute to think of us bloggers.

Hopefully things will be a little bit better by the time you read this Dreamy!

@ Dave...kinda glad you didn't post the complaints about the BM...even though I'm sure she deserves to be put on blast.

I went to school in Louisiana and I got peeps down there. Hopefully everyone is out of danger but I haven't heard anything.

So I'm glad she's alright. At least you heard from her, I can't even hear from my peeps.

Yes, God does work in mysterious ways. Thank God it was only the house that suffered the damage and not her or her family's life.

I'll be praying for her and all the people of New Orleans.

that's happened to me before... I was all ready to bitch and moan about something and then a friend calls me with some scary news. always puts things in perspective.

Hopefully the gov will do a better job with clean up this time around. At least I'm hoping.

I wish her and her family well, and everyone else who's down there!

wow God really does have a way of reminding us of all the things we have to be thankful for that we take for granted daily. My prayers go out to your friend, and the folks down south!

God has a way of working in mysterious ways. I tuned into CNN more than usual this weekend and to see the calamity happening on the Gulf Coast and then to look out my window and see a slight breeze with the sun shining made me count my blessings....glad to hear that Dreamy is ok, my prayers are with everyone that was affected by the storm.

OK, but how many characters in that text message? DAYUM. It's a good thing they have that many because, bored as hell with no electricity, you're bound to want to use your cell to text until the battery dies with leaving you with no way to charge it. I'm just saying.

But, seriously, I know what you're saying. You still reserve the right to complain about the baby momma. That's a God-given right, dammit - it's all we got left!

Another way of putting that is to say that "God is right on time." He gave you the reminder you needed when you needed it.

Thinking about Dreamy and Ash has got me worked up. I really can't stand it.

Ahhhh, baby momma drama. Gotta love it.

Amen. This is the truth.

Every time I complain about another repair to my house. Or about being lonely. Or about what I don't have but want. . .

I see something or hear something that reminds me I may not have much. I may not be able to give my children all they wish for. I may not afford that item. I may not have much but I got more than others.
And whatever I am going through there is someone somewhere going through something worse.

Count the blessings.

God really does work in mysterious ways like that! Just when you think its bad- he sends someone to tap you on the shoulder and remind you it could ALWAYS be worst.. I'm always tickled by that, when I'm just about ready to bytch and moan about something or someone..
