Weekend Wrap-up

I had another pretty boring weekend. I didn't do much of anything. I did have this convo with my daughter:

Baby: Daddy I want waffles for breakfast
Me: ok
Baby: But I don't want your to make them, I want toaster waffles
Me: But my Waffles are good!
Baby: Nooooo, I want toaster ones!!
Me: fine

we had this exact convo both saturday and sunday, So I guess I need to work on the waffle recipe.. lol

Anyway I did do some cooking/baking. I'm still working out stuff for thanksgiving dinner. I made some red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. Not for thanksgiving just to see how they would come out. They were pretty good.

Then on Sunday I made some Candied Yams. I wasn't really a fan of them, the syrup wasn't thick enough. I don't know if I'ma make them again or not. I might not have time. I also made some stuffing but I didn't take any pics of it.

Later Gator!!

You're not fooling anybody. You ain't testing recipes. You just want two Thanksgivings. Why else would you put yourself through all this? Where's the test versions going? Why are the portion sizes so big? Testing, yeah right.

my hungry ass really just had a homer simpson moment like "mmmmm CUPCAKES!" lol

@KGB - Sure you can borrow them, as as soon as you let me borrow some banana pudding.

@Dreamy - She regularly lets me know how she feels. Working on holiday sucks.

@Cranky - She has seen Alvin but I think she was just being impatient and didn't want to wait for them.

@Kei Kei - Cheese? naw babe those are marshmallows, they melted down. They are great you should try it

@Sha Boogie - You should come BEFORE lunch. See I solve all problems.. lol

@Sexxy Luv - I was thinking about brown sugar, I might try it next time. Marshmallows rock!!

@Hustla - Really I am just trying stuff. Some stuff I just toss out and other stuff I take for lunch. I'm cooking anyway I might as well make enough for lunch the next day.

@Ms Modisto - Homer reactions are what I'm going for.. lol

I use brown sugar on my yams and marshmellows.

I want some cupcakes my address is. . .

Yeah don't use syrup unless you cook them on the stove. When baking with marshmallows, brown sugar, butter, etc.

I'm impressed with your skills.

Now I want cupcakes. I don't really like yams. I never have, but those do look good.

I guess I have to make do with a pic of those cupcakes.

*sigh*

As for your waffle recipe, I doubt there's something wrong with it. Kids are super picky around this age. Buddha won't eat mashed potatoes and I make the BOMB mashed potatoes. Don't take it personally.

Curious about your version of candied yams. Wanna share?

And must be a DC thang, cuz I've always called them sweet potatoes.
