Date with destiny

So I finally got a custody court date

in July

10 months after I filed

Gotta love the court system

It's bittersweet, I'm happy to have a date but mad its so far away

In the mean time I'll get this visitation stuff straight

I won't make it till July without my baby

Anyway, Have a good weekend folks, Happy Easter!

Hope you get the visitaton worked out soon.

Love is a powerful thing. Love that little girl with all of your heart. Talk to her with your spirit, write her a letter for every single day you dont see her and give them to her as a gift for her 16th birthday. I'm serious. LMS will know the difference between real love and the make believe when she is a grown woman because you are a good Dad.

So, write those letters, my friend. Even if its just a few lines...on a card..."my darling daughter, I love you so, I love you more than you could know". Pour your heart out, let her know how it felt to be away from her and how much she means to you. You'll feel better for it, the time will fly.

I'm glad you finally got a court date, sorry it's so far away. But hopefully you get your visitation sorted and everything works out in July. I love Cas's idea of writing the letters. I'll keep you and LMS in my prayers. Hey I'll even pray for the BM cause lawd knows she needs Jesus.

@ Monique - (hugs) Thanks!

@ Thoughts of a Southern gal - Thanks... although i can't see you busting a grape in a fruit fight lol

@Caspar608 - I actually toyed with this idea a while ago. I suck at writting letters though,I might try one and see how it comes out. I figure if it doesn't work I'll just let her read the blog and hopefully she will understand.

@BorednTalkative - Thanks for the prayers, I'm sure it will all work out. Just have to be patient.

So happy to hear you got a date, yay! Yes courts are extra slow when it comes to doing right by the dads, but if SHE was taking YOU to court over child support you'd have a date next week, SMH!

The letters are a good idea. My dad was a man of few words - I mean ever; not a mute lol the guy just wasn't a big communicator. The letters I recv'd from him while in college would literally be like four or five sentences and we rarely talked on the phone. He's deceased now and I still read those letters - they say so much to contain so little.
